Engine crank/no start. Scan for fault codes – exhaust cam position over performance. Check for fuel pressure – ok. Remove and reinstall fuel rail to check for leaking Injectors – good. Remove coils and spark plugs. Check compression, all cylinders went up to 150psi. But, first compression stroke on each cylinder was low. Remove valve cover. Engine very sludgy! Check timing chain marks – all lined up, but exhaust cam lobe position looks off, like cam is advanced. Hold crank from turning and used erench to reposition exhaust cam. Reinstall valve cover, plugs, and coils. Engine started right up and ran good. Exhaust cam phaser was stuck due to sludge and will most likely happen again.
