    • Perform a 28 point inspection
    • Verified customer complaint, engine has a severe dead misfire, even at idle. Scanned vehicle for fault codes, found code p0303 cylinder 3 misfire. Monitored live data and verified that cylinder 3 is counting misfires. Swapped cylinder 3 ignition coil with cylinder 1 and ran the vehicle. Found that the misfire was now from cylinder 1, this testing proves that there is a faulty ignition coil causing the misfire. It is recommended to replace all 4 spark plugs with the ignition coil replacement. It is also recommended to replace all 4 ignition coils as a preventative measure, but not required to fix the misfire at this time.
    • Removed engine cover, ignition coils, spark plugs. Installed new spark plugs, torqued to specifications. Installed ignition coils with new replacement ignition coil with dielectric grease. Reinstalled components. Cleared fault codes with scan tool, verified misfire is no longer present.

    • Check coolant level – found low and has a "Stop Leak" added. Topped off coolant, less than a quart low. Pressure test cooling system – no leaks found. No residual sign of leak. Only fault codes were related to evap control system. Actuate radiator fans with scan tool – ok. Run engine in stall to check radiator fan operation – found not coming on except with AC on. Even then ran hotter than normal. Remove grille to check radiator temp across face and found uneven temps across core – indicating restriction. Need to replace radiator and recheck fan operation.

    • No warning lights on when brought into shop. Scan for fault codes, stored P0848 (3rd clutch pressure switch stuck off, or open circuit). Check for TSB's – none. Inspect harness and connector at pressure switch – ok. Monitor 3rd clutch pressure switch data on road test, reading normally at this time. Recommend replacing 3rd clutch pressure switch for possibly sticking intermittently.
