Services Performed
- Upon visual inspection, found the engines front timing cover is leaking. There is a TSB for leaking timing covers on these vehicles with an attached repair procedure. TSB 01-008/24
- Disconnected negative battery terminal, removed plug hole plate, ignition coils, front under cover, front splash shield, drive belts, OCV for cylinder 1 deactivation, drained engine oil, removed oil pan, cylinder head cover, drive belt auto tensioner, water pump pulley, crankshaft pulley. Supported engine and removed engine mount no. 3, electric variable valve timing motor, removed engine front cover. Completely removed old sealant from front cover and engine cylinder head/block. Cleaned inside and exterior of oil pan and front cover. thoroughly cleaned and dried sealing surfaces for front cover, oil pan and valve cover. Followed manufacturers procedure for sealant installation and tightening torque pattern/specifications for front cover, oil pan and cylinder head cover. Used new O-rings and sealing washer on front cover. Reinstalled components with new stretch belt for water pump, new cylinder head cover gasket, new gasket for electric variable valve timing motor and new drain plug gasket. Allowed sealant to cure before adding engine oil. Added oil and ran vehicle, inspected for leaks, no leaks present. Test drove vehicle, vehicle operates normally and no leaks are present after test drive.
- SERVICE SPECIAL – 5 QUARTS OF OIL, FILTER AND 28 POINT VEHICLE INSPECTION.
