2006 Ford Escape
Mileage121,590Service Date5/3/2023Services Performed- Tried starting in neutral or park – no crank. Check anti-theft system for fault codes – none. Tested battery – ok. Scan for fault codes – multiple faults for high voltage battery system. Went to test starter and found that vehicle uses high voltage motor as starter. Accessed emergency "jump start" switch and used battery charger to charge up high voltage battery. Once high voltage battery had a charge the engine will now start and was able to clear faults. Also found that tailgate glass was not closed and kept cargo light on, possibly drained low voltage battery. If any high voltage system concerns return will need to take to the dealer.
